New Member Applications

New members:
According to the APC bylaws, there are several requirements that must be met before applicants are granted membership. You must be a qualified Canadian prosthodontist to join APC as an Active member. The pertinent bylaws are copied below for your reference.

If your professional credentials are obtained outside of Canada or the USA, please see our foreign trained dentist section for information and links about obtaining professional credentials in Canada.

After filling out the online form, and on receipt of copies of your qualification documents (per bylaws section 6.1), the executive council will review them and present your application to the members at the next Annual General Meeting.

If you do not qualify for Active membership as per Section 1 of the bylaws (see below), you may wish to apply for Non-Resident or Student membership instead, however only fully qualified Active members are eligible to receive benefits from our sponsoring companies. Lists of the eligible members are forwarded to these companies annually and the companies will ask for a membership number before granting discounts.

The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry subscription is a benefit and a requirement of all Active members and is included in the membership fee.  Non-resident and Student members may however, take advantage of APC preferred subscription rates for The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry (50% off regular price) if you so choose.

Student Members:
There are no fees for membership but we request that you apply for membership and renew annually as well so that we may keep our records up to date. We allow recent prosthodontist graduates to remain as student members up to a year from their graduation date in order to have time to complete the required licensure exams that make them eligible for active membership.

Duplicate JPD Subscriptions?
As part of our continuing efforts to ensure that none of our members are paying for more than one JPD subscription each year, if you already belong to another JPD Sponsoring organization, and receive at least one JPD subscription through the other organization(s), please contact the APC Administrator before registering online.

Not sure where your JPD subscription comes from? Fax the mailing label or cover sheet from your last or next JPD issue to 604-263-1757 and we'll decipher it for you.
