Pour les dentistes/spécialistes provenant de l'extérieur du Canada
La pratique dentaire est réglementée ua Canada. Afin de pratiquer ou d'utiliser le titre de dentiste ou de chirurgien dentiste, vous devez être membre autorisé d'un organisme régulateur provincial/territorial.
De telles entités établissent les normes d'admission dans la profession et émettent les permis à ceux qui rencontrent les standards de qualification et de pratique dentaires. L'Association des prosthodontistes du Canada n'assume pas ce rôle.
Plusieurs juridictions exigent la réussite de l'examen national en spécialité dentaire avant que vous soyez reconnu comme spécialiste. Cet examen est administré par le Collège royal des chirurgiens dentistes du Canada (CRCDC).

Pour être éligible à l'examen du BNED, vous devez avoir été promu d'un programme accrédité soit au Canada ou aux États-Unis d'Amérique (USA). Le Canada n'a présentement pas d'entente de réciprocité avec d'autres pays. Les diplômés de programmes dentaires de l'extérieur de ces deux pays sont tenus de suivre un programme de deux ans dans une université accréditée.
Foreign-trained dentists, regardless of education, licensure, or experience, must obtain a Canadian licence to practise dentistry in Canada. Those who wish to obtain further information about qualifying programs and the Eligibility Examination for enrolling in them should contact the Association of Canadian Faculties of Dentistry (ACFD):
